Panels

An electrical panel, also known as a breaker panel, distribution board, or load center, is the central hub of a building's electrical system. It houses circuit breakers or fuses that control and protect the electrical circuits throughout the structure. The panel receives incoming power from the utility service line and distributes it to various branch circuits that power lighting, outlets, HVAC systems, and appliances. Each circuit is individually protected by a breaker, which trips in the event of overloads or short circuits to prevent electrical fires and equipment damage. Electrical panels come in various sizes and configurations, ranging from small residential panels to large industrial switchboards, and can include features like main breakers, sub-panels, surge protection, and space for expansion. Proper installation, labeling, and maintenance of the panel are essential for electrical safety, energy management, and code compliance in any building.
